I have always preferred preparing my food at home using my own vegetables and recipes. Not only to ensure the quality I appreciate in my meals, but also to be environmentally aware in pursuit of my vegan believes. But awareness of excellence and environment is not all. The color-language of the vegetables, how the mature fruit advice you of its ripeness through its colors, how color gives the entire food experience an extra level of joy and appreciation, this is another reason to why I would always choose to cook for myself even on journeys, where the mere transportation form really doesn’t allow you to bring much more but the essentials.
Working with fresh quality products also allow you to prepare meals, where the major part of the ingredients is as close to rare as possible, which again adds to the completion of a perfect, nourishing meal, because you conserve the natural taste and quality of each ingredient. This simple way of composing your energy intake complete my idea of a hardship worth enduring and worth investing the amount of time in good meals ask for.
So, cycling and trail cooking is not just about biking and eating outside, to me it’s about so much more – It’s about the details in it all.
